I smirked my lips twitched upwards, the smirk just barely lighting up the rest of my features. Somehow it made them seem softer, like something had been switched on. My eyes suddenly seemed bluer then they are, startlingly bright most people were freaked by that so generally I kept sunglasses on. Flicking my sunglasses open I stepped out of my apartment and went out to the street, I could see the flickering protection and look away spells that littered the most expensive thing I owned: an amazing 2010 Dark Rod, Harley Davidson, the thing had cost me 3 years of savings but the second I saw it I knew it was mine. Tucked under one arm was my helmet, I yanked off my sunglasses fast enough to put the helmet on. I glanced down at myself briefly enough to take note of what I looked like. Tight black jeans that hugged my legs all the way down to my calves where the jeans disappeared into my combat boots, I was wearing a red long sleeve shirt with a black leather jacket the shirt sleeves gloves covering almost every inch of me. The jacket was tight and form fitting. I stroked the side of the bike it was pitch black but had a bit of a custom paint job which had cost me extra, red and electric blue flame licked the bike and were captured artfully as if still in motion.

I threw one leg lazily over my bike, passing though my spells with an effortlessness that made it seem as if they weren’t there. And they weren’t, at least not to human eyes. I straddled my bike for a moment my hand passing though my leather jacket and touching the place where my pentacle touched my chest beneath my shirt. A small smile touched my lips as I thought of where the pendent had come from and all of those who had wore it before me, a family heirloom, my mothers and my grandmothers before her the piece could be traced back centuries. Then I remembered where I was going and shoved my key in the ignition and turning feeling the engine reeve beneath me. I could feel its power coiled and waiting to be released, I knew how it felt I had the same feeling most of the time. I stood there for a moment still straddling the bike feeling the power it contained like a panther with its muscles coiled ready to pounce upon its prey. When the anticipation in my gut overwhelmed me I revved my engine again and shoot into the NYC streets feeling the wind as it whipped my long black hair out in tendrils behind me leaving an imperceptible trail as I shot into the night.

I flew down the road ducking on the back of my mind started to tingle. I flew around another corner trying to pinpoint the feeling I’d felt it before but I couldn’t remember where….

I slammed on the break for a red light and in the same moment I remembered where I knew the feeling from. It was my early warning system.

“Shit!” I yelled though my helmet my hand fell to my side and hit the pause button to stop the Rise Against from clogging my senses. I threw my senses out gently probing the area looking for who I knew was going to be there.

At first all I got was the typical annoyed NYC drivers and foreign taxi drivers, wondering why they had come here. Then I found what I was looking for, it was just as I thought: Seekers. Humans who knew of witches and other supernatural’s and sought to destroy them, by any means necessary, even the loss of innocent life. Fear trailed down my spine as if someone had run a cold finger down my spine.

The light turned green and I shot off down the road ignoring the angry honks as I ducked in and out of traffic. The Seekers were armed and hoping I would lead them to my Coven so they could take us all out at once. It wasn’t going to happen. I focused on Alice one of the other blood witches in my Coven. I quickly sent her a mental message:

Alice! Get the Coven out of here! The Seekers have found us! I’ll hold them off you and Allie get them out of here and double back to me! I felt the message fly towards Alice and a minute later I felt her reply.

We won’t leave you. It was a simple enough statement but anger coursed though my none-the-less. Who lead this Coven? Oh, that’s right…me!

GO! I’ll not sacrifice my Coven for my own sake. Be gone! Return when the others are safe you know where to go. I cut off a rather large truck as I exited the city limits. I could feel the Seekers even more now as I headed to the assigned place when we were being followed. An abandoned field with large structures that no one was to sure as to what they had once been. I spun out in the field and cut my engine, facing the three black cars that had pulled into the field behind me. This was a meeting of the ley lines. Here my magick would be stronger. Here I would fight them. I pulled my helmet off my head and shook my hair out before turning my gaze on the people who had just stepped out of the car. I heard several gasps at the sharp bright color of my eyes. I only smiled.

Witch” I heard one or two of them gasp.

“What did you expect? A Werewolf?” I asked watching as they pulled out weapons. “You’ll regret coming after me. You have no business here leave or I’ll have to hurt you.” I heard a few laughs at that statement. A woman stepped forward. She seemed to be the leader here.

“It’s time you all left our world.” And with that her group opened fire upon me. Instantly I threw up spells of protection and deflection humming as I did so. This was nothing to me. I heard the steady ping ping ping of bullets hitting the ground around me and my bike. I threw another ward around my bike. Not only had that thing cost me more then their lives were worth, but it had a full tank of gas and it would be bad if a stray bullet hit it. In fact…a spell flew from my lips in a light voice. My bike hummed to life and slowly it moved forward till it was behind a long forgotten wall. Then I turned my full attention on my attackers. They were prepareing a large scale attack on me, an attack that would slip though my small wards with ease. My basic protection spells were barely fending off the bullets. It was time to kick it up a noch

Fire be my guide.

Keep away those who would deal me harm.

And aid those who seek only to help.

The spell wove itself in my mind as I drew Sigil in the air. A circle of fire wove itself around me and I heard deafening explosions as I retreated to another wall, waves of heat crashed over me. I ditched my jacket leaveing myself more free to move. The fire dissipated. The bullets from the huge attack lay melted around me.

Okay now what do I want to do? It’s apparent they aren’t going to give up. I can’t kill them; at least…I don’t want to. But if it’s me or them…well. I sighed unsure of what to do. I decided to defend myself as best I could and hoped they would flee when back-up arrived.

New York, New York P1000353-1-1

Rainie zipped through traffic, weaving gracefully between cars, sometimes traveling illegally on the yellow line. Angry shouts, curses, and irritated honks trailed in procession behind her glossy black Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. Her vibrant violet eyes were narrowed in concentration, following an invisible trail.

She remembered Alice's flustered expression as she told the assembling coven what she'd heard from Luna. Rainie had just entered the room and was removing her coat. "Luna's in trouble. The Seekers have found us. They're tracking her."

Allie jumped up. "We're certainly not gonna sit by! We'll go help her." She declared.

Rainie watched the telepathic and spoken argument unfold. Then she spoke up, her voice low and clear, dripping with authority. "Do whatever Luna says. Shade and I'll go help her out."

Now, with her long red hair tied in a high ponytail at the crown of her head, whipping behind her in a silky blood red stream, and dark sunglasses over her eyes (no helmet, mind you), she zipped through the streets, extending her senses out to catch a whiff of the Seekers.

The field!, She thought with a gasp. Duh! She took a sharp left, cutting off a taxi with an angry cab driver behind the wheel. Twisting back for more gas, she drove with dangerous speed, the engine roaring. She was half surprised she didn't break the sound barrier.

Trees surrounded the semi-empty field, providing perfect cover from pedestrians. Rainie slowed when she left the pavement, slowing even further to avoid trees. She slid off the bike and kicked the kickstand down, briskly setting a ward around it before darting off. She reached up and grabbed a limb of an oak tree, swinging herself onto it before leaping off and landing on a limb of the next tree. When she finally reached the clearing, she was a hundred feet off the ground in a tall Lobloli Pine tree. She counted the Seekers. About a dozen, she decided.

She took off her sunglasses, discarding them carelessly. Her startling violet eyes sparkled with mischeif, and her mouth sretched into a wicked smirk. She touched the gun at her belt. Her precious Beretta 92FS, 9 mm automatic pistol, which she lovingly nicknamed "R. B." for "Rainie's Baby". Not only that, but a Daewoo USAS-12, 960 mm shotgun was slung on her back, ammo belts criss-crossing over her bosom, and a couple grenades on her belt, on the opposite side of her pistol, accompanied by various magazines. This was war, baby.

She looked dangerous, even wearing a pleated red-plaid mini skirt, and a feminine black blouse covering her shaply torso. She leaned forward on her perch, her knee-high Doc Marten's pinching her feet a bit. She glanced at her sister, ready and waiting for the next round, Rainie having apparently already missed the first.

With a wicked smile and devious twinkle in her violet eyes, she leapt from her tree, summoning wind to send her sailing through air above the battle feild. Not one for sublety, she yanked two grenades from her belt, one in each hand, and pulled the pins out with her teeth at the same time. She threw them with perfect precision, two of their silly black sedans blowing up a second later.

Rainie angled herself carefully to send her towards Luna's position...and also to keep her skirt from flying up. A pillow of air was created to lighten Rainie's landing, but she still staggered a bit. Rolling with it, she dipped into a somersault, lifted herself up with a handspring and gracefully vaulted into a standing position at Luna's side.

"Hiya!" Chirped Rainie with a glowing smile. "Weapons Specialist Knight, reporting!" She sang. She turned to look at the squad of Seekers, watching them scramble about like ants as fire licked heavenward from their destroyed cars. Only a few stayed calm, glaring at her menacingly. The one in front was a stern looking woman, her black hair tied up in a no-nonsense bun, not a single strand daring to fall from the knot. Her face was taut and angry, and she glared at the two witches fiercely.

Rainie noticed suddenly that they were all wearing suits, like the kind you'd wear to a job interview. Her expression became mystified. She called out to the group, "Don't you people have day jobs?!"

This seemed to irritate them a bit, seeing as the uptight leader lady shouted, "Open fire!"

Sure why not? I'm bored enough. Rambo ninja! I\'m Batman!! Elf w/tounge out <= My fav smilahs.

Akio drove slowly through the crowded streets. This was trying his patience. Yes, he had his driver's license--barely. According to the DMV, he displayed more than four of the 7 signs of road rage/aggressive driving. One of them, he was displaying now. The moron in front of him had no freaking clue what the hell he was doing. In the fast lane, on a highway, going barely fifty. Akio was tailgating the guy, in an attempt to make the old man trying to figure out his cell phone go faster. "I'm gonna ride your ass until you decide to move it!" He shouted to the car, though no one was inside his to hear.

This was his day off, and definitely not how he wanted to spend it. The plan was to move his car to a parking garage for a couple of hours, paying a much simpler toll than dealing with a parking meter, and hit the park. The fuzz was always watching those damn meters...Finally, the guy hit his exit, and Akio hit the gas. He sped past the man picking up a much easier pace of seventy and sped down the highway. It took him another fifteen minutes to get off the highway, make his exit, and wind through the complicated patterns of New York City. Seeing the first parking garage on his left, he pulled in and gave the toll lady the required cash for three hours. He guessed he wouldn't be much longer than that, and he could always come back and get a renewal on his ticket. If he kept the park adventure short, there would be plenty of time to take a taxi somewhere else and perhaps grab a bite to eat. He should've known it wouldn't be that easy.

Hardly 2 minutes after he found a parking space on the third level, a group of delinquents began to lumber his way. Akio opened his door a fraction and caught the easily recognizable scent of alcohol on their breaths. He sighed, resigned to get whatever it was over with and stepped out of the car.

"Hey!" One of them shouted. Here we go... Akio mused. "What's with your license plate?" Well that brought him up short. What did he mean? What could be wrong with it? Akio gave a confused glance to the piece of metal attached to the back of his car. Kio3 it read. So nothing wrong--what was this guy's issue?

"Why the hell do you have that on your license plate?" He asked gruffly, and Akio twitched internally. So he was just going to pick at anything he could find eh?

"I put it there because that's what I wanted." He growled.

"You can't do that!" He protested.

"I can do anything I damn well please." Akio responded simply.

"Why does it say that anyways?" He wondered somewhat miffed. "You could've put something generic in!" If there was a weirder person that gets this way when their drunk, Akio had yet to meet them.

"I've already answered that question." He said quietly.

"Well it's gotta mean somethin', 'Kio3'." He read.

"Well isn't that special, you can read. What ever kind of talent will you delight us with next?" Akio wondered aloud. He was getting real tired of this man and his determination to ruin what was left of his free day.

"Well are you gonna tell us what it means?"

"Sure, it means my name is Kio and that was already taken so I put a three in there."

"That's a lie!! Why Kio?" He shouted. Akio momentarily wondered whether or not this man was calling him by name or continuing the stupidity. Going with the later, he said,

"I thought the number thirteen spelled XIII was a bit ostentatious." The man was dumbfounded at this, it was easy to understand why his fourth grade vocabulary hampered him in life.

"Nuh-uh." He continued. "Why the Kio and the three?"

"Because there are ten of us scattered across the universe, if you can count maybe you can guess what number I am." Akio said, really tried in his patience, and the man's total incompetence wasn't aiding the situation. He decided now was the time to leave. He could pick any of the excuses he had already provided and go on with his life. The fact was his name was Kio, and he was born on the third of April. But this man just wasn't going to accept anything like that.

As he began to walk away the man realized he was making an escape. "Menny! Get the pipes!" He declared. Hm...a pipe gang? Akio laughed. This had to be a joke. He rounded the corner of the third floor, and hopped swiftly over the banister down to the streets below. Since the building across the road was still in construction, there were no cameras to catch this marvelous effect. And what kind of parking garage needed security? As he hit the concrete, which gave a loud crack in astonishment, he could just make out the continued yelling and orders from the moron above, barely over the street noise.

The park was now in sight, and the rest of his day could go smoothly. He ran across the street, somehow surviving without looking both ways, and hit the soft grass on the other side. Akio took a precautionary look around, and didn't see any wandering pedestrians, so he decided it was safe to leap up into the trees. He did just that, slipping off his shoes and hiding them over the nearest branch. He could come back for them later or buy a new pair downtown. He had little time to travel peacefully before he reached a small clearing in the midst of the forest. There was a loud explosion, two if he wasn't mistaken and quite a bit of fire. The hell?! Akio growled internally. There were a few things he could do. Running would be the human response. Ah who cared, his day was already screwed, and that was so boring anyway. But why go over there? Well there's fire...and perhaps a fight, one that might present a challenge. His thoughts answered.

The first reason was good enough.

OoC: Customized it meself. Lu's bike:
New York, New York LusBike2-1

The explosions around me continued to rock the ground and shake the falling apart foundation of the wall I was behind. A peice of the wall chipped off and made contact with the side of my face. The small peice of shrapnel periced my cheek and a slow trickle of blood ran down the side of my face. Anger flared in me more than before, I sprang lightly to my feet and glared at the people firing.
"HEY WATCH IT!" I shouted as they fired off more rounds, this time at my face.
"Whoops....guess that wasn't my best idea, ah well." I muttered jumping on top of the stone wall and twirling around continuing to deflect their attacks much to their annoyance....or maybe rage was a better word to describe them. I stopped spinning and looked at them.
"Okay are you guys getting this yet? It's. Not. Going. To. Work." I said shaking my head like a disapproving parent. I was about to throw my next spell out...one to paralyze them all so I could just go around doing whatever, before I could, however, I shot a glance up to see Rainie rocketing over my head, my eyes widened watching her grab two grenades and in one swift motion brought them to her mouth and yanked the pins out with her teeth. She then threw them into the seekers cars, causing quite the explosion. I back flipped off of the wall landing behind it, shielding myself from the brunt of the oncoming heat wave. Rainie landed next to me in a sort-of-but-not-really graceful landing. I eyed my twin warily as she greeted me.
"Hey...not one for subtly are you? Where's Shade? Something about this whole thing is bugging me." I couldn't put my finger on it but something about this whole set-up felt off. Why hadn't they just scattered themselves as they normally did? Their plan of attack wasn't making much sense to me...and that wasn't really a good thing, I sort of considered it my job to know what the enemy was trying to do, and why and too me this was looking much more like a distraction then a full scale attack. I cast my mind out searching though the thoughts of the Seekers until I came upon one who was thinking the plan over in his mind.
Okay, so we have a few coordinated efforts going on all at one time. We have squads 1 and 2 attacking the Vampire Covens, we're squad three and we have the Mage Coven playing right into our hands. Squad 4 is taking that Werewolf Pack. Once each squad has the entire Coven together in one area the reinforcement squads 4-13 will move in and take them all down. No prisoners, no survivors. This is the day we purge New York of the scum that resides here.
Rage flooded though me the intensity of which was about 20 times greater than the earlier anger from the drawing of my blood. I turned looking at Rainie.
"I take it you just heard that. Now lets show them how wrong they are." The air around me was flaring with heat and crackling with energy. Once I heard the firing stop I jumped up on the wall.
"You all think your master plan is going to work? That you can destroy us? You won't win, you'll never win. We will defeat you every time. Because we are stronger, we are faster, and we are better then you will ever be." I snarled my eyes falling on the leader of the group. She was suddenly the target of my rage. I glared a slight narrowing of the eyes and her hair was on fire, and she was screaming. Then the other Seekers were lifting their guns. My words came out sharp and harsh as I threw out a paralysis spell and all of the froze. I shot a look at Rainie.
"You can have half." I muttered heading across the battle field to where the frozen Seekers now stood. Sending a message in the meantime.
"Shade get the Coven and meet me in the field in 5 minutes. Tell them to be prepared for battle."
"Got'cha." Shade said and I could feel him jerking his car around to head back to where the others were hiding.

A/N: (still blatantly ignoring Sam) Alright, take two! I already wrote this, but it went and deleted it when I hit "Preview". Oh, and I changed Rainie's M16 to a Daewoo USAS-12. Needed something fully automatic. ^^

Rainie's violet eyes narrowed in suspicion as she scanned the battlefield, analyzing each of the Seeker’s faces as they shot at them. The bullets were deflected easily. Something wasn’t quite right. Suddenly, someone else’s voice drifted into her mind. She shot a glance at Luna, then followed her gaze to one of the Seekers reloading. She focused on what the man was thinking, catching the man’s thoughts loud and clear.

....we have a few coordinated efforts going on all at one time. We have squads 1 and 2 attacking the Vampire Covens, we're squad 3 and we have the Mage Coven playing right into our hands. Squad 4 is taking that Werewolf Pack. Once each squad has the entire Coven together in one area the reinforcement squads 4-13 will move in and take them all down. No prisoners, no survivors. This is the day we purge New York of the scum that resides here.

Rainie’s eyes burned with hatred and red-hot fury. Why those manipulative little -- Sparks fluttered around her hands and face, her vision turning red. Suddenly, the grass around her caught fire, forming a circle around her.

Rainie was temporarily distracted by Luna shouting at them, lighting stick-up-her-butt-lady’s hair on fire, et cetra. Then, Rainie smiled her wicked smile, and her violet eyes glinted cynically. Her hand reached out, palm towards her enemies, cruel smile still on her face.

“Incendia.” She whispered.

Several of the Seekers burst into flame, screaming in agony. Rainie just smiled, and flicked her wrist. A wall of fire started from the flaming Seekers and reached for the very sides of the meadow. As several Seekers watched their comrades burn with horror-stricken faces, others recovered more quickly, opening fire with a new found fury.

Rainie frowned, and threw up a shield to stave off their silly bullets. She scanned the field gingerly, deciding there weren’t many of these guys left. She pointed to one of the Seekers who seemed quite angry with her all of a sudden, looking up at him through her eyelashes and the curtain of her red bangs. The spiteful smile was back.

“Lacerta.” She said with a slight giggle, as if she were enjoying a joke.

The man visibly gulped, then disappeared. His clothes, now empty, fell to the ground, as well as his weapon and...is that an athletic cup? (A/N: 0_o)

In the seekers place was a tiny, very confused lizard. It tried to scurry back to their one remaining car, but was squished by a Seeker who hadn’t seem Rainie transform one of his buddies into a reptile.

Rainie almost doubled over in laughter, but she reached back for her Daewoo USAS-12. She glanced over at Luna, hoping she wouldn’t mind to terribly much if she took care of the rest. She smiled sweetly. “May I?” She asked adorably.

But before Luna could answer, a voice rang out in her head. It was Alice’s voice, and she sounded distressed. She spoke to Rainie directly, speaking Latin.

”Nos adveho.” She told me. She’d said “We’ve come”.

Rainie smiled. ”Bene habet! Quid novi?” She’d replied “All right! What’s new?”

Alice still sounded anxious. ”Desunt cetera.” She had told Rainie “The rest is missing.”

Rainie’s eyes widened, and she felt around with her mind for the others. She could only sense Shade and Alice, no one else.

”Whaaaat?!” She screamed mentally, abandoning her favorite language. She whirled around to look at Luna, who didn’t, in fact, speak Latin as she and Alice did. She locked eyes with her twin for an immeasurable moment, violet to midnight blue, silent communication and understanding flitting between them.

Rainie spoke aloud, saying the thing they already understood. “The coven has been captured.”

I watched with cold eyes as Rainie killed all the Seekers, I didn't care that she had taken my half of them, I didn't care how they died I just wanted them dead. The side that Rainie was showing from her pure anger showed her craziness that made no on willing to cross her. I knew I was at my most deadly when I became very calm. I was rappidly approching that stage.
When it was over and Rainie had killed all the Seekers, I stood staring at the pools of blood wondering absently how we were going to cover this up. Then, voices starting ringing in my head then. I turned to stare at Rainie because Alices distraught voice was speaking in rapid Latin, a form of speech I had never bothered to learn. I waited for some sign of what was going on. It didn't seem good from Alice’s tone. Rainie turned and locked eyes with me a long moment passed as we spoke silently. From her I learned all I needed. Our coven had been captured. When Rainie announced it aloud I mentally turned to Shade.
Was zum Teufel ist passiert? Wo sind sie? "What the hell happened? Where are they?""
Wir wurden überfallen. Sie griffen und Alice und ich waren die einzigen, die entkommen konnten. Ich weiß nicht, wo sie getroffen wurden. "We were ambushed. They attacked and Alice and I were the only ones who managed to escape. I don't know where they were taken." His voice sounded strained, like he was in pain.
Wo sind Sie zwei? Wir kommen holen. "Where are you two? We'll come get you." I asked knowing that it would be best for Rainie and I to get away from this place before the cops showed up. I glanced to the wall where my bike was hidden.
"Komm zu mir." I muttered as my bike roared to life and came to my side.
Drei Blocks von Ihrem Haus. "Three blocks from your house."
Go there wir in weniger zehn Minuten. "Go there we'll be there in less the ten minutes."
Alright I felt him cut the connection and I turned to Rainie my eyes shining with rage and a lost look that said I had no idea what to do from here.
"This is very bad. They're heading for my place I told Shade we'd be there in less than ten minutes. We should have a somewhat plan when we get there. There are no Seekers left alive here...at least I don't think there are. How do we figure out where they took our Coven? You heard that guys thoughts: 'no prisoners, no survivors'. We have no time to plan anything or find anything out. Rainie, what the hell do we do?"

(OOC: Okay, this site is dead, but I’m not willing to give up just yet. Maybe this post will alert you idiots that it still exists. And, Sam, you are being left behind. Get your heads outta your asses and get back on here!!!! >:O)

Rainie felt her consciousness return, and her eyes tightened at the destruction she’d single handedly caused. Oops... She thought sheepishly. This wouldn’t be cleaned up easily. She half-listened to Luna’s German conversation with Shade. Rainie didn’t know more than two words in German, so it didn’t matter if she listened or not.

She blew at her bangs once before finding a seat on the wall Lu’s bike was hidden behind and proceeded to clean her Daewoo lovingly, replacing the empty magazine with a fresh one. The bike behind the wall roared to life at Luna’s bid, making Rainie jump slightly. Luna’s bike rumbled to her side.

Rainie, finding this a good idea, looked towards where she’d stashed her bike. “Prodire.” She said clearly. There was a quiet rumbling as her own motorcycle cruised towards her at a slow pace.

Most Mages used another language for spells. Sure, you could use the language you spoke normally, but it kinda blew when you were talking about the bonfire last week and the potted plant next to you bursts into flame. So, foreign languages worked better. Dead languages worked best.
Finally, Luna spoke to Rainie directly. "This is very bad.” She stated.

Duh.

We have no time to plan anything or find anything out. Rainie, what the hell do we do?"
Rainie’s brow creased with stress. “Shade’s headed for your place, neh...?” She mumbled to herself. She fumbled for her cell phone. It was in one of the grenade pockets on her belt. Skirts didn’t have pockets. Without thinking about it, she snapped her fingers briskly, black skinny jeans and Converse replacing her mini-skirt in the blink of an eye.

The coven had been ambushed, and they’d been down two of their best fighters. Their leaders had left them. Rainie couldn’t help but feel responsible. If she’d let Lu handle the Seekers on her own, she could have staved off the others, kept the coven safe. Her jaw tightened in frustration.

“Damn it...” She growled, her fury subdued at the moment. That’s what she needed. She needed to be angry.

The wicked smile returned. “Get a hold of any bloodsuckers or puppies you can find. Warn them, they’ll fight with us. A common foe will bring us together, for however short a time. Alice knows a leader of one of the local vamp clans. You’re on your own with the dogs. Get all of them on the defense. We can’t help them without the coven, so I’ll work on locating them myself.” Rainie said, thinking about her spell books back home. She knew one about tracking a person’s life force or something. She didn’t remember it though.

Rainie looked up at her twin, grinning like a madman. “I’ll get the coven back. It’s time we wipe out the damn bible thumpers.” She sang darkly.

“Get Shade and Alice, and split up. Alice can get the leeches, Shade will handle the wolves. You, boss, can do as you please.” She finished, the manic smile replaced by a calm one, and her eyes dancing like violet flames.

She smiled once, then held out her hand, her open palm facing Luna. “I’ll take us back to your place. I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve got to ditch Fatty somewhere.” She said offhandedly, referring to her Harley.

Without warning, a presence came to Rainie’s attention. Not a human, so it wasn’t a Seeker. Also not a Mage. Rainie’s mouth set in anger and hatred. Luna and Rainie shared a hatred of vampires, for they killed their family and destroyed half their unsuspecting town. Rainie had been taken by the filthy beings, then held captive by werewolves that attacked the vamps for nearly three years. Her hatred of vampires was overshadowed ever so slightly by her loathing of the wolves. They’d done terrible things to her when they took her away.

So, not knowing what form of being was near, she stood and took two angry steps in the presence’s direction, her fists on her hips. She raised her hands to cup them around her mouth. “HEY!!! Asshole!!! Get your arse out of those trees before I burn them down!!” She shouted furiously.

Yeah, she’s nuts. Just in case you were totally oblivious.

Srry girls! Ima put an honest effort now...I'm going to wrap up the current chapter in my book...and focus more here. Smile So...expect to be seeing more of me. :p Btw...we really need to begin writing the re-amp of ze site. *nods*
Akio was many things. Confused was the least of them.

He was certainly...at a loss. Right now he was baffled by what was happening. When he had heard that New York might be a dangerous place to live he scoffed at those that imparted him with this advice. Naturally he had a good reason for doing so...but now he wasn't so sure. If there were others here...one's that could do things like him. Magic. Supernaturals. It couldn't be a good thing. There had to be some middle ground where he could find some semblance of a normal life. Right now, he didn't see how that was going to work out.

Upon actually breaching the forest edge, Akio could see clearly the destruction that appeared to rain from every crevice provided by the shadows of the trees, increasing from the dimming light. Of course there were plenty individuals in the open per say. For instance, right now he could see what looked like two stunning girls conversing in the center of the vestige. He could tell they were obviously magical, but what purpose they had here he didn't know. What choice would he make now? He could simply walk up to the two and ask what the hell they were doing to the city and why...or he could hang around and find out a little more about them before approaching.

Naturally, he would expect them to have already noticed him; but whatever their take was on his appearance remained a mystery...just like them. Then a further conundrum presented itself. One of them wielded an automatic. Akio's eyes had bulged slightly when he had first taken in the gun; with its twisted hot metal, it could probably kill a man despite the new fresh clip of ammo still inside it. There was a time when he would've eyed the weapon warily, but seeing as it had not been pointed at him yet, he figured he'd be okay.

It was then that the one who'd had the automatic--which had somehow managed to vanish unknowingly from Akio's gaze--turned sharply in his general direction.
Rainie wrote:
“HEY!!! Asshole!!! Get your arse out of those trees before I burn them down!!”
...there was a short moment in which Akio had nothing to say. He was an asshole now? He mentally checked himself. No...I'm pretty sure I've just been spectating...wait I was also breathing...was that it? He wondered internally. He honestly didn't see how he could've offended them...then again it wasn't everyday that you ran into this kind of situation; so he supposed that they had every right to be some what on edge and untrustworthy when it came to strange beings callously wandering into their midst. Again he must've been lucky that they didn't begin shooting, and it wasn't necessarily the gun he was worried about.

Making the final decision that he was going to find out more about them, just in a more direct manner, Akio began to stride forward towards them.

As he moved closer, stepping up the small incline naturally created by the hills, he began to see more of the burning flesh scent he had caught before. Several blackened bodies scattered the ground, a little bit more than unconscious. They'd been fried. Smirking to himself, he also took note of the perfectly formed black circle surrounding the one that had previously had the weapon. The earth as well as the small plants and little grass that had formed that circle had been charred by the force of her magic, her fire. Looking up at them determinedly, he strode forward closer to them still. He fervently hopped they did not have a prejudice against vampires, as so many people did. Then again...there were tons of beings that were discriminated against...to many bad experiences were generated by their respective kinds...it was a miracle they didn't all go extinct from fighting and bloodshed. Too much bad blood. He thought to himself.

Once Akio was close to what might be considered a normal hearing distance for humans--just a bit farther away, because he had just met these people and it gave some type of respect to the gesture when it came to supernaturals--he stopped a little abruptly and stood his ground.

Hey...at least you won't be burned with the trees! His mind tried to console him. Somehow...the thought wasn't exactly comforting. Standing there in silence for a moment, for all the world simply dithering on whether or not to speak, Akio thought about what he should say.

Well...I can just try and simply say hi. But then what if they try and kill me? No...I'm really bored! And these people look like they have a lot of fun. Though they do look like they're in some kind of a fix...maybe I could help. Do I need anything? Probably not. Something tells me these people are prepared. What about my shoes...! He finished thinking in mock horror. Akio would simply pick up another pair whenever he got around to getting back. So the dithering part was probably right just about now...and he was pretty certain that the two mysterious beings took him to be mental. He'd better speak and soon so as to prove that point wrong.

"Uh...hi." He started a bit uncertainly. "So...I was just in the area and I heard loud explosions!" He explained, making large sweeping gestures with his hands and then pointing to the evidence of terror the two girls had left in their wake. "Anyways...I'm kinda bored so um...mind filling me in on what just happened? I could help if ya like." He added conversationally. To a passerby that wouldn't do just that; pass by and pretend to the gods they had seen nothing and this was all a crazy dream, this might've been a normal day for Akio.

It certainly was not. The only question was whether or not he missed the drawl that he'd previously lived in. There wasn't even a pause for deliberation. Before he had even consciously considered the question, he'd already had the answer. There was no freakin' way he was going back to gather his measly little shoes and drive away in his car back to his boring ol' apartment to do nothing.

Plus, for all he knew, his car was blown up anyway.

I looked around without seeing as I thought up several plans that I scratched out because of the stupidity of them. My thoughts were scattered. We'd just taken out a whole group of seekers without even getting hit. And throughout that time our coven was being taken by a bunch of insane freaks bent on killing us all. Rage filled me. Good, rage I could channel. What the hell was wrong with these people? They were betraying their own teachings by coming after us. It's not like we did any harm to them. The bloodsuckers mostly hunted animals and the wolves just wanted raw meat and they were fine. And the Mages? All we really did to anyone was enchant things that they wanted enchanted. But, no to them we were an abomination. They thought that no one should have our powers. That we had made deals with the devil to get our powers and that it was their duty to exterminate us.
I had a few problems with that line of thinking. One if there is a God and he had a problem with us I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been allowed to happen in the first place and I highly doubted that He would need the help of the bible bumping morons to get rid of us. Two i remembered my unlocking pretty well and I was pretty sure there was no signing over of my soul to a man in a cloak. But whatever, I really had no problem killing them once they attacked me.
Rainie spoke jerking me out of my thoughts:
“Get a hold of any bloodsuckers or puppies you can find. Warn them, they’ll fight with us. A common foe will bring us together, for however short a time. Alice knows a leader of one of the local vamp clans. You’re on your own with the dogs. Get all of them on the defense. We can’t help them without the coven, so I’ll work on locating them myself.”
I nodded as I paced in a circle my mind swirling as I thought of the different possibilities. I knew some popular hangouts for supernaturals, I should be able to get their attention easily enough, the only problem was I tended to get rather annoyed with the other two factions of supernaturals. I like maybe two or three Werewolves and no vampires. My hand drifted to my arm and the tracks there that led to my neck. I shuddered as my mind flashed back to that blood soaked day. Vampires had nearly took everything from me.
Don't think about that. You have to save the coven. If that means sucking it up and talking to the bloodsucker you'll do it. I thought shaking my head and looking around the clearing, as Rainie continued to speak:
“I’ll get the coven back. It’s time we wipe out the damn bible thumpers. Get Shade and Alice, and split up. Alice can get the leeches, Shade will handle the wolves. You, boss, can do as you please.” She held her hand out to me palm up “I’ll take us back to your place. I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve got to ditch Fatty somewhere.” She said offhandedly, referring to her Harley. I glanced at my beloved Harley and was about to mutter a quick teleportation charm to get it to my house when I sensed something. A presence on the outer edges of the clearing. Not human. Not Mage. Which left only two options. I didn't like either of them. Rainie strode forward and yelled to the being lurking in the trees. Just to bring her threat home I conjured a fireball in my elft palm and tossed it between my two hands.

When the figure appeared from behind the wall of trees I squelched the fireball. After looking at him for a moment I knew he was a Vampire. I killed my immediate dislike of this boy, we'd have to get along if we were to save everyone. I cast a weary glance at Rainie when he stopped a short distance from us. He seemed to debate for a moment as to what he was going to say. I cocked my head to the side awaiting something.
"Uh...hi. So...I was just in the area and I heard loud explosions! Anyways...I'm kinda bored so um...mind filling me in on what just happened? I could help if ya like."
My eyes widened as I glanced at Rainie.
"Are you totally clueless? Those are Seekers. You know the crazies that would like to see us all dead and mounted on pikes? They're planning an extermination. Every supernatural in New York. They're closing in on all of us, you might want to warn your Coven of their approach...like now. By way who are you?" I said watching him carefully. There was still an off chance that he would attack. My hand once again drifted towards my scars, this time to the ones on my neck. As soon as I realized where my hand was drifting I jerked it back down.
What'd you think? Should we get out now, or wait till he proves untrustworthy? I asked Rainie mentally. The shields around my mind were heavy so there was no way the vampire heard my thoughts.

Rainie stared at the tree line with unyielding violet eyes. Luna was behind her, playing with a fireball casually. As a figure emerged, Rainie narrowed her eyes as Lu's fireball vanished. A vampire.

Rainie felt a cold finger trail down her spine. Hot fury boiled her chest as she slowly smiled. A vampire...

This might be fun.

She was nearly doubling over with laughter at his awkward greeting. What an odd creature. She examined his appearance as she hid her smirk behind her hand. His hair was...black? With a lavender tint? His eyes were rather purple, just more muted than her own vibrant, unnatural ones. His skin was fair, and he slouched slightly. He seemed nervous, for he kept rolling his weight from one foot to the other. Strange.

What'd you think? Should we get out now, or wait till he proves untrustworthy? Luna's thoughts rang out in her head. Rainie smiled, grateful for the strong mental sheilds the two of them shared.

A smirk crept across her face as an idea came to her. She giggled internally at the thought. Hold on. She replied.

With catlike grace, she strode toward the vampire, her arms behind her back. She circled him carefully, staying out of range. Should he attack, there would be a sheild as thick as the Hoover dam before he had the chance to touch her. But she didn't think he would pose as a problem. Even so, her fingers brushed R.B. to reassure herself.

She paced around him, until his back was to her. Then, she took a step towards him and murmured in his ear, "This may surprise you... But my sister and I... Well, we don't particularly like vampires."

She stepped away quickly and paced around him calmly until she stood near Luna. There she stopped and continued to state at him, her hands entwined behind her back where her Daewoo hung harmlessly. Her blood red ponytail swayed slightly as the wind picked up.

Rainie smiled suddenly. "But as much as we despise vampires, we'll always hate Seekers more." She laughed girlishly. "You wouldn't happen to be interested in helping us exterminate them, would you?"

Somewhere in the city, the door of a well-known supernatural hangout posing as a nightclub was kicked down, and the building was flooded with Seekers. Priests holding rosaries prayed for forgiveness of their corrupted souls as other men gunned down everyone in the building, leaving a young human women who worked as a waitress cowering in the kitchen during the slaughter.
