Territory Languages ~

Intro: Among the many languages that thrive throughout Tyrand, there contains a few that stands out from the rest...

Tyrand operates like any other world would, so there must be base languages people speak throughout their daily lives. Most are subject to the respective territories or islands from which they originated, but it is not limited as such. For example, races and descents have their own dialect through which they speak.

Tyranise - (tea-RAN-ease) / (tie-RAN-ease)

Spoken by: Many.
Native to: The entire land.
Sounds like: A strange flow of Egyptian and Thai.
Description: Of course one of the most wildly spoken languages, this is a fast growing second if not primary language in most cities. It was created for the sole purpose of inter-communication between all races and territories and most popular in Murdrock where it was believed to have started; most likely a good choice for merchants or traders who might travel a lot.

Murdrockian - (MURD-rock-e-an)

Spoken by: Most of the territory, but all peace followers.
Native to: Murdrock territory and it's islands, some of Nagol.
Sounds like: Mix of Spanish and Chinese.
Description: As the peace bearers, the Murdrock people felt it necessary to create a language through which they could conduct their peace endeavors. The language is usually taught to children at an older age, rather than a younger because of its complex city. Most strict church dwellers would need this language; but it is considered polite for ones trying to spread peace to use this language.

Neokish - (ne-oy-KISH)

Spoken by: Those in the territory.
Native to: All of the Neoki territory, mainly Rororcaitun.
Sounds like: Soft spoken French and German.
Description: Almost like soft sighing, it is unknown why this language flows together so smoothly when spoken, especially being spoken from what many consider to be the darkest people to walk Tyrand. The language is certainly a mystery to many, but only those who do not speak it. It is believed that Neoki upon devising the language kept it only to those that followed him, completely out of spite. It is very hard, yet not impossible; to learn this language except through being a genuine follower of Neoki, or else being taught it as a young age growing up in the territory.

Nagoleasian - (na-goul-E-shan)

Spoken by: People against Neoki
Native to: The territory of Nagol, or other colonies in the resistance.
Sounds like: A rather harsh mix of Roman and Russian.
Description: Being the resistance of most the world, at least in the beginning, was no easy task. Nagol had trouble organizing all of his people, and on top of that, a language. It sounds rather harsh when spoken; perhaps it is so because of the hatred a supporter of Nagol carries against everything dealing with or about Neoki; almost as if the language was born of hatred, though the territory was born to protect. This language is usually taught to kiddies in their toddler years, but it is fairly easily learned since the language is made public for all to see and teach. Perhaps a bit older when taught, but the language really is the easiest to pick up. Most people suspect that this public form was made to convert more to their cause.

Race Languages ~

Intro: Among the other languages, more exist. The races bear their own languages as such, and after them, the descents...

Elven:

There are two types of Elves: the wood elves, or elves for short, are the kinder more common type. But there is also the chaotic opposite, blood elven who were once normal, now cursed by Neoki's magic. It stands to reason that there would be distinctions in the elven language.

D' Elenari - (de-EL-en-are-e)

Spoken by: Elves.
Native to: Both types of elves.
Sounds like: A smooth blending of Japanese and Latin.
Description: The world wide accepted language of the elves. Though it carries distinctions from those who were brought up in different places, it is usually possible for an experienced elf to place where that person is from, simply through the articulation they use when speaking. Both blood elves and wood elves will use forms of this language, but both are generally understood by the other without much difficulty.

Human:

Naturally some humans would survive the calamities that struck the land, but very few remain indeed. They still carry the base language, and English is all that is left...

English - (ING-glish)

Spoken by: Humans.
Native to: N/A. Humans are spread out.
Sounds like:English, though sometimes in a more medieval sense.
Description: Even though orks are the chaotic opposites of humans, their languages are vastly different. Of course the language hails from Great Britain, and it has remained surprisingly untouched since then. Although it has somewhat reversed or rescinded to a more primitive state in some people, seeming more like the medieval times, most, if possible, could go forward to the future and not miss a step.

Dwarf / Goblin:

Of all the races, even the elves, the dwarfs and Goblins remain to be the most ancient of the land...

Ezoridan - (e-ZOR-e-dan)

Spoken by: Dwarfs and Goblins alike.
Native to: Dwarfish lands and Goblin territories.
Sounds like: A deep undertone, like bass but ties can be drawn back to Celtic languages of old as well as the modern middle east.
Description: Many think that the blood elves and wood elves both carry a heavy hatred toward each other; but it is not so. They carry a distinct, and extreme while respectable, dislike of the other. There is a difference. No, for it is the Goblins and Dwarfs that can't bear to be around each other, feeling detestation any time they come into contact with the other. Very rarely do you find a friend among them, thought it has been known to occur. The language which is universal between them, and like most learned at a young age, sounds like a huge undertone of deep bass throughout it. It has not been given up by either of the polar opposites, this drive being born from spite and the refusal for either to create a new language.

Orks:

Though thought to be the uglier, stupid side of Tyrand, this race also bears an interesting language as well...

Morconelin - (moor-CONE-e-lin)

Spoken by: Orks, and generally only them.
Native to: Orkish tribes and areas of control.
Sounds like: A lot of hacking, spitting, grunting and groaning.
Description: The Orks are one of the most curious races that walks Tyrand. They have very powerful frames and massive strength to add to the intimidating figure. Usually the stereotype of stupid is applied to Orkish people, but it is not always so. There are plenty of smart Orks to go around, and it was these that ended up forging the language. It is accepted that if you're not an Ork, you shouldn't even be speaking their tongue, even if you've somehow managed to teach it to yourself, because you're hardly going to sit down and have lessons with an ork. An interesting note however, is that the Orks themselves won't even learn the language till after they've reached the accepted age of maturity (40 years). At this point, they are shown the method in the madness of the strange sounds that make up the Orkish language.

Descent Languages ~

Intro: These languages are among the most interesting or entertaining forms of communications depending upon your point of view. There is no learning these languages and barely any connections can be drawn to origins, sounds, nativity, or descriptions. The only thing we can say is the unique names they hold.

Werewolf Language:

The werewolf language is known as Hirisil (he-RE-sill) (Roll the 'r'). It is certainly a strange tongue, but ancient in its ways. It is made up primarily of growling, but worldly sounds can be heard as well, some hissing or speech, even close listeners can pick out strange words from the swift flow of vowels and constants. If you were to encounter a werewolf, and find them communing through this to you, or another wolf brother, the number one rule is to stay still. You'd be surprised; most of the time, they are discussing your death.

Vampire Language:

Karhian (KLAR-e-an), the mystical language by most. These are the sweet sounds you hear before you are lulled into a dark alley and fed upon by a beautiful vampire. Most of the time, it is soft spoken, and flowing; a golden noise you wouldn't want to stop hearing. However, like the sirens of old, it can turn harsh in an instant, taking on a tenor akin to sharp razor blades through your ears and down your spine. Deadly things come in sweet packages.

Mage Language:

The oldest language, stretching farther back than the elders of dwarf and elven kind, thought to be the first ever created, is called Oseri (oh-SEAR-e) (Roll the 'r'). The elders of the first mages made this up, before both Neoki and Nagol's time it was created. Strange symbols make up the writing, swirling runes and complex figures make up the base of spell casting or instruction, written in tomes passed down from generation to generation. The sound is more or less a combination of everything, the syllables indistinguishable to none other than mages. The sound can rise in pitch as well as lower to the tunes make up of a spell. Truly this dialect should be feared, for the spells can only get more powerful when spoken in this tongue, gaining nearly five times in their strength.
